    Vacation Bible School
    Registration has begun for Vacation Bible School at Island Pond Baptist Church in Hampstead, for June 23-27. This year's Hawaiian-themed Outrigger Island will teach children to talk about God's truth and to live it out in the unpredictable seas of their lives. Outrigger Island is open to children who turned 4 by September 2007 through those who have completed sixth grade. Kids will "island hop" among Beach Hut Bible Studies, Crafts Cabana, The Snack Shack, Outrigger Recreation, Missions Outlook Point, The Music Lagoon and Worship Waterfalls between 9 a.m. and noon each day. Kids in third through sixth grade may continue their island adventure during the Outer Island afternoon activities, Monday through Thursday including lunch, music/drama and sports, noon to 2 p.m. Family Beach Night will be held Thursday evening, June 26.     "New Hampshire-A State of Mind," 7 p.m. at the Leach Library. This program, given by UNH lecturer Carl Lindblade, is a humorous look at New Hampshire from the time of King George II to the present. Lindblade will discuss the state's quirks, highlighting such topics as Colonial days, current political traditions and culture. The program is being coordinated through the University of New Hampshire's Speakers Bureau, which is a program that connects the people and communities of New Hampshire with faculty experts to share their knowledge and expertise free of charge. The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
