Derry music school expanding with lessons

Derry News

---- — DERRY — A local music business is expanding and is accepting new students interested in learning to play piano, guitar or sing.

Rockingham Music School at 37 Crystal Ave. is now accepting new students for percussion, guitar, piano and voice instruction. The studio recently expanded its services to offering piano and vocal instruction, along with professional studio and performance work.

New students are accepted on a first-come first-serve basis, based on availability.

“Summer is a great time for students to start taking lessons and try something new,” music school owner Daniel Lofthouse said. “At a time when music programs are being underfunded and even cut entirely from schools, private music lessons are a tremendous opportunity for students to build musical aptitude while increasing self-esteem and even improving other aspects of their academics.”

Rockingham Music School has been a part of the Derry small business community for seven years, providing a wide range of music education, including weekly lessons, instrument purchases and opportunities for students to collaborate. Lessons are available weekly on a half-hour or hourly basis for $22 or $44, respectively.

The school offers an experienced staff of versatile instructors with a wide range of diverse educational backgrounds in piano, acoustic and electric guitar, percussion, voice, and songwriting and lyrics.

“Whether a beginner, intermediate or an advanced student looking to hone musical skills, Rockingham Music School will develop a customized lesson plan to help reach your musical goals,” Lofthouse said.

Lofthouse is also a professional guitarist and available for studio work and professional performance opportunities. For lessons or professional studio work, call Rockingham Music School at 425-ROCK (7625) or visit RockinghamMusicSchool.com.
