---- — DERRY — Local restaurants, food businesses and wine vendors will be in the spotlight again during this year’s Taste of the Town.
The Greater Derry Londonderry Chamber of Commerce hosts its annual food and wine fest on May 23 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Aviation Museum of New Hampshire, 27 Navigator Road, Londonderry.
The night includes wines to sample, along with tasty food prepared by local businesses and restaurants.
Food vendors signing on for this year’s event include Amphora Restaurant, C.R. Sparks, Edible Arrangements, Halligan Tavern, Rig-A-Tony’s, T-Bones/Cactus Jack’s and Tidewater Catering Group.
In addition, wines featured include Circa Wines, Jewell Towne Vineyard, Moonlight Meadery, Pine State Distributors and Zorvino Vineyards.
It’s not just wine and food that will be presented; other specialty items may be featured, including baked goods and other treats, along with raffles and other prizes.
Pianist Steve Aubert will provide music throughout the evening.
Chamber office manager Cristen Eustice said the annual event is a great way to meet people, network, and enjoy the area’s best wines and food.
This year’s event also takes place in a new venue, the Aviation Museum, helping the Chamber branch out and host events in different locations.
For many years, the event was held at Promises to Keep in Derry.
“We wanted to venture out into more areas,” Eustice said.
Holding the event at the Aviation Museum will provide Chamber members and their guests a chance to see an interesting spot that also is very historical.
The museum is operated by the New Hampshire Aviation Historical Society and includes Manchester Airport’s historic 1937 terminal building and the Slusser Aviation Learning Center, providing historical displays, artifacts and information on the area’s aviation history.
The museum regularly opens its doors for private events and special functions.
Tickets for “Taste of the Town” are on sale now at $30 per person and available at the Chamber office, 29 West Broadway, Derry. For information, call 432-8205 or visit GDLChamber.org.
