---- — ‘The State of the Region’ is April 26

Gov. Maggie Hassan will speak April 26 at the Greater Derry Londonderry Chamber of Commerce’s “The State of the Region.”

The Chamber has invited local Town Managers John Anderson of Derry and Bill Hart of Londonderry to provide updates and the state of local towns.

The town manager presentation will follow Hassan’s remarks, and a brief question-and-answer session.

Come hear about regional economic development initiatives (including R&D tax credits, business incubators and technical support programs), Hassan’s balanced budget proposal, plus restoring cuts made to New Hampshire’s public universities and community colleges in exchange for freezing in-state tuition.

The event is Friday, April 26, from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Promises to Keep, 199 Rockingham Road, Derry.

ServiceLink opens in new location

On April 5, the ServiceLink Resource Center of Rockingham County welcomed more than 70 people to its new location in Atkinson to celebrate the new location and the value of the ServiceLink program to residents in Rockingham County.

Special guests were Department of Health and Human Service Commissioner Nicholas Toumpas, Sen. Chuck Morse and Sen. Nancy Stiles.

Established in 2000, Rockingham County ServiceLink is a nonprofit organization, dedicated to assisting older adults, disabled adults, and their families in solving simple and complicated life issues with a focus on improving access to appropriate services within the local community.

The local “one-stop” resource center is dedicated to helping you know and understand the options, navigate the systems, and make the connections necessary to resolve problems and find solutions as you age, live with a disability or chronic illness, or care for a loved one.

The new location is easily accessible to residents from the Greater Salem, Derry, and Hampstead areas.
