DERRY — Tyler Speck, a New York Life Insurance agent in Derry, has been named an Annuity Champion for 2012. Each year this recognition is bestowed upon a select group of qualified agents based on exceptional annuity sales performance.
Speck has been a New York Life agent since 2010, and is associated with New York Life’s Boston General Office in Waltham.
Speck also received the prestigious Annuity Champion status in 2011. When Speck isn’t working, he can be found dedicating his time to the local community. Speck volunteers at the Salem Animal Rescue League. He also offers free Child ID events and educational workshops including “How to Raise Financially Responsible Children” in the Derry area.
Speck recently moved his practice and family to Derry.
Cask and Vine celebrates in style
DERRY — Cask and Vine, which just opened at 11/2 East Broadway, is rolling out the red carpet for a grand-opening extravaganza.
There will be a winemaker dinner with Leo Hillinger of Hillinger wines out of Austria on Friday, Feb. 8.
The official grand opening night is Saturday, Feb. 9, and it begins at 3 p.m. Local photographer Carly Rose will display her work, “First Impressions. From 5 to 7 p.m., Center Ossipee mead makers Matt and Ash will be there with oak barrel aged vanilla bean mead.
California winemaker Richard Bruno of Vinum wines will join forces with White Birch Brewing’s founders Bill and Ellen Herlicka to premiere a rare Cabernet Reserve (only 100 cases in the U.S.) and a White Birch Belgian Tripel that combined the flavors of the Cabernet.
