DERRY — A new business space offers local chefs a venue to spotlight their culinary talents.
Creative Chef Kitchens is now open at 35 Manchester Road. The 2,481-square-foot space is equipped and ready for chefs, bakers, caterers, canners and others needing a professional cooking space.
Chef Anna Marie Cattarin of Windham will rent space at Creative Chef Kitchens to teach cooking classes, beginning next month.
Cattarin, known for many years for her local television show, "Anna Marie's Euro Kitchen," will be teaching on Thursday nights and Saturday afternoons.
Creative Chef owner Neelima Gogumalla said the kitchen space is something the area needed.
"I saw a need for a food incubator," Gogumalla said. "So many different people need it in so many different ways."
The kitchen space has 11 cooking and preparation stations for businesses and home cooks looking for a place to create edible products.
So far, Gogumalla said, interest in the kitchen has come from granola makers, candy and gourmet popcorn chefs, those who love to bake, and people who hope to start their own food business.
For Cattarin, it's a chance to get back to what she has loved for many years — the opportunity to cook and share her talents in the kitchen with people who want to learn.
"I think it will be a real plus for the area," Cattarin said. "I will get back to what I love doing."
Her classes include instruction on how to create complete gourmet meals. Attendees will learn techniques, enjoy a meal and take home recipes.
Windham Cable will tape some of her newer programs from the Creative Chef space in Derry. Visit annamarieseurokitchen.com.
