LONDONDERRY — Moonlight Meadery recently announced continued New England expansion with a distribution agreement with Craft Beer Guild Distributing of Maine LLC, a L. Knife and Son company. The Craft Beer Guild seeks to be the leading vendor of craft and specialty beer and wine wholesaler in Maine.
"Maine is a natural extension to our territory, this is where I won my third straight Mead Maker of the Year award, at the New England Regional Homebrew Competition," Moonlight Meadery founder Michael Fairbrother said, "Our partnership with Craft Beer Guild Distributing of Maine is a testament to the demand that we continue to see in our growing market." With this agreement, Moonlight Mead is now available in six states, and ships its meads directly to customers to 16 states."
Born in Fairbrother's garage in May 2010, Moonlight Meadery now has production capacity to produce more than 200,000 bottles per year.
This small business continues to grow from its humble beginnings, and expand its national footprint. Last year, Moonlight's sales grew an astounding 760 percent, according to Fairbrother.
Moonlight Meadery now has of five full time employees and a growing number of tasting associates.
The meadery produces more than 54 different varieties of mead, including traditional, melomel (mead with fruit) and metheglin (mead with spices). The sweetness range from dry to sweet.
