Settlement reached in Londonderry Presbyterian Church lawsuit

By Eric Parry

BRENTWOOD — A settlement has been reached in the lawsuit to determine who owns the Londonderry Presbyterian Church, the town's oldest house of worship.

Rev. John Mokkosian, pastor for LPC members who had voted in the minority to remain affiliated with the national Presbyterian Church USA, said on Monday that a settlement had been reached between their church and the members of the national Evangelical Presbyterian Church.

Mokkosian said that he was "not yet able to address the issues at this point in time" and referred all questions to the his group's attorney, Roy McCandeles, who did not immediately return calls seeking comment.

Attempts to reach attorneys representing the Londonderry Presbyterian Church Board of Directors and the majority church members who had voted to affiliate with more conservative Evangelical Presbyterian Church, were also unsuccessful.
