Republican Sen. John McCain and Democratic Sen. Hillary Clinton scored important victories in the first-in-the-nation New Hampshire Presidential Primary on Jan. 8.
Both were coming off poor performances in the Iowa caucases and needed wins in the Granite State to revive their campaigns for the White House.
With more than 500,000 New Hampshire voters (a record) casting ballots, McCain garnered 37 percent of the Republican vote to Gov. Mitt Romney's 31 percent. Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee placed third with 11 percent.
On the Democratic side, Clinton scored 39 percent of the vote, while Illinois Sen. Barack Obama placed second with 36 percent. John Edwards placed third with 17 percent.
