DERRY — A young family of five and their two dogs were left homeless by a fire that destroyed their home at 13 Oak St. early this morning.
At 4:20 a.m., a neighbor who was out walking his dog alerted the family to the flames in their front yard. The family safely evacuated.
Two firefighters were injured battling the blaze, but are expected to be OK, Battalion Chief David Hoffman said. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
